MONTICELLO - Bernard E. "Gene" Dunlap, 88, of Monticello passed away at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.Bernard was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Monticello to Bernard and Ruth (Peterson) Dunlap.    Bernard is survived by his son, Paul Dunlap of Monticello; three daughters, Sarah (Titus) Nesbitt of Thornton, Becki (Curt) Durbin of Bement and Cari (Jeff) Haynes of Palm City, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Melinda Dunlap McColgan, Morgan, Ryan and Casey Brittenham, Tray and Zachary Ritchie, Jerichiah, Jaylen, Chloe, Levi, Ethan and Canaan Nesbitt; three great-grandsons; and a brother, Thomas Dunlap of Monticello.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Ackeret.Bernard retired from Kraft Foods Inc. He was a member of the Fountain of Life Church. He enjoyed cars and racing, fishing, a good cup of coffee, holiday family dinners and church potlucks.     A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Bement Township Cemetery.Memo
