MONTICELLO - Charles Lyle Alexander of Monticello passed into his heavenly home on June 6, 2024, at Piatt County Nursing Home.Lyle was born May 26, 1929, on the family farm in rural White Heath, to Charles William Alexander and Elizabeth Pearl Blacker Alexander. He was the third of five children and lived his entire life in Piatt County.Lyle is survived by his wife, Darlene; and his sons: Chuck (Sherry) of Marion, Iowa; Bob (Linda) of Monticello; and Steve (Cindee) of Cresson, Texas. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Lyle proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953, during the Korean Conflict and in the Army Reserves from 1953-1956. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and remained a grateful and dedicated veteran.On July 11, 1954, he married Clara Darlene Moore at St. Peter's Evangelical Reformed Church in Champaign. The family was looking forward to celebrating Lyle and Darlene's 70th wedding anniversary next month.He was a loyal Sages fan,
