Thomas C. Whisman, 86, of DeLand passed away at 10:30 p.m., June 13, 2024 at Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.Tom was born November 9, 1937 in Bloomington, IL to Guy and Viola (Page) Whisman. He married JoAnn E. Frost on April 19, 1957 in Bloomington, IL. She passed away March 3, 2007.    Tom is survived by his sons, Orin (Pam) Whisman of DeLand, Kenneth Whisman of Mahomet, Donald (Tanya) Whisman of Clinton; daughters, Mary (James) Habel of Savoy, Janet Whisman of DeLand; youngest brother, Dale (Kim) Whisman of Buncombe, IL, that he took in and raised as one of his own; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Whisman, Amanda Kilian, Chuck (Melissa) Whisman, JT (Katie) Habel, Chloe and Allison Melvin  and  4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers Frank and Lloyd "Butch" Whisman.Tom retired as a mechanic from Bill Abbott's, Inc. where he worked for 33 years. His passion was mushroom hunting and Tom was especially known for riding his scooter around DeLand
