Harry Porter, 88, of Bement, passed away at 8:12 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Piatt County Nursing Home.Harry was born September 26, 1935 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of William Grover and Flossie Victoria (Lamb) Porter. He married Carol Joan Heckman on September 24, 1967 in Monticello, IL.Harry is survived by his wife, Carol Porter of Monticello; sons, Steve (Vickie) Porter of McLean, Scott (Jaime) Porter of Monticello; grandchildren, Hannah Porter, Clare Porter; step-granddaughters, Allison (Matthew) Gilbertson, Rachel (Andrew) Bunyard, Amanda (Timothy) Wiser; and sister, Wilma Gay of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.Harry was an Insurance Agent for 38 years. Harry also served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a 76-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bement, a 50-year member of both the Bement Masonic Lodge #365 AF&AM and the Royal Arch Masons Chapter 65, the Albert Parker American Legion Post #620, Bem
