MONTICELLO - Dale R. Turner, 90, of Monticello passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday (Feb. 24, 2025) at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.Dale was born on Feb. 28, 1934, in Milmine, the son of Alva and Cora (Thomas) Turner. He married Shirely A. Meece on Jan. 20, 1956, in Monticello. She passed away on Feb. 10, 2019.Dale is survived by his children, Gary (Andrea) Turner of Cisco, Carla (Wes) Taylor of Monticello, Janet Warnick of Monticello and Mike (Joy) Turner of Bement; grandchildren, Courtney, Derek, Caroline, Audrey, Zeb and Wyatt; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Bridget, Mark, Gwendolyn, Gabriella and Sutton.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, Scott Warnick; and brother, John Turner.Dale retired from Firestone in Decatur. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 58 AF&AM, ANSAR Shrine and the Scottish Rites.Dale earned the nickname "Bulldog" when he played on the first Bement High School football team that Tommy
