MONTICELLO - Belva Jean Clark, 96, of Monticello passed away at 3:07 a.m. Monday (Feb. 24, 2025) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.Belva was born on Oct. 8, 1928, in Bement. She was the daughter of Harry Edward and Hazel Florence (Hadden) Slagle. She married Duane H. Clark on Sept. 26, 1948, in Bement. He passed away on April 10, 2008.Belva is survived by her sons, Ed (Donna) Clark of Downs, Jim (Dianna) Clark of Paducah, Ky., and Dan Clark of Bement; grandchildren, Christina L. (Brent) Ladage, Kelly R. (Austin) Hamblin, Kevin J. (Emalee) Clark and Dylan T. Clark; two stepgrandchildren, Michelle D. (Kevin) Kutchman and Bradley L. (Dawn) Stout; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces, Melinda and Rosanna.She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pauline Chumbley.Belva enjoyed her work as a seamstress making drapery at Lieper's Furniture.She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Piatt Co
